ADVANCEMENT

Scouts begin their advancement immediately upon entering the Troop through participation in the various activities. Individual Scouts are organized into groups called Patrols, typically by age or school grade, working together utilizing the Patrol Method. Scouts advance individually from Tenderfoot rank through Eagle Scout. Efforts are made to have the Scout achieve the rank of First Class in their first year. A few merit badges are worked on in groups as well as elected Merit Badge Clinics sponsored by the Council. Courts of Honor are held periodically, typically organizeda around a family potluck dinner or picnic, to recognize Scouts for their achievements.

UNIFORMS

The official uniform for Troop 391 includes a long or short sleeve Boy Scout shirt (open collar) with insignia which includes council patch, flag, and red shoulder loops. 391 numerals, other insignia and advancement are provided by the Troop. Scouts are required to wear their uniforms at all Troop meetings as well as while travelling to and returning from Troop-sponsored activities.
